Stephen Curry remains laser-focused on winning his fifth NBA championship as the Golden State Warriors continue their late-season surge.
With the arrival of Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline, the team has gained momentum, going 12-2 since his addition and positioning themselves as serious playoff contenders.
Curry’s Championship Mentality Remains Strong
When asked if he thinks about securing another title, Curry didn’t hesitate to express his determination.
“We talked about it. Somebody asked me this summer, ‘What are you still playing for?’ That’s literally the only reason—to win a championship,” Curry said.
“When you’re not winning consistently, it can shake your confidence and make it harder to see yourself as a real contender,” he added.
Despite the challenges, the Warriors have been on an impressive run lately, thanks in part to the addition of Jimmy Butler.
The All-Star forward, who joined from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline, has provided an instant spark. Since then, the team has gone 12-2, proving it has what it takes to compete.
Warriors Gaining Steam Ahead of Playoffs
Curry remains optimistic but realistic about where the team stands.
“I think we have what it takes to do it. But I am not fast-forwarding to say we are a championship team right now because we have another level to get to before we get to a playoff-type of environment. And I’m excited about that challenge,” he said.
Currently, the Warriors hold the sixth spot in the Western Conference with a 37-28 record. While there’s still work to be done, Curry embraces the battle ahead.
“All I wanted was to be in the fight, to have a chance, and to look across the Western Conference knowing we can go toe-to-toe with anyone. I feel like we’re knocking on that door,” he said.
With Curry leading the charge and the team gaining momentum, the Warriors are positioning themselves as serious contenders once again. As the playoffs approach, all eyes will be on Golden State to see if it can make another championship run.
