Skip Bayless has built a career on strong, often controversial takes, and when it comes to LeBron James, his criticism never wavers.
No matter how much LeBron accomplishes, Bayless always finds a reason to diminish it.
Now, after James reached an unprecedented milestone, Bayless is once again leading the charge against the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
LeBron Makes History with 50,000 Points
On Tuesday night, LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to surpass 50,000 total points in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
His legacy is already cemented with four championships, four MVP awards, and nearly two decades of All-Star appearances. This latest achievement further solidifies his place among the greatest to ever play the game.
Bayless Dismisses LeBron’s Work Ethic
Despite James’s historic feat, Bayless wasted no time in taking aim at him on The Skip Bayless Show.
“Every night, I hear commentators praising LeBron for how much he’s worked to improve his shooting,“ Bayless remarked. “The other night on ESPN, Richard Jefferson—who played with LeBron and went on and on about the hours and effort LeBron has put into perfecting his jump shot. Well done, LeBron!”
The sarcasm was evident, as Bayless implied that LeBron’s shooting improvement has been overhyped. He has long criticized LeBron’s clutch performances, even after James has repeatedly silenced doubters with game-winning shots and playoff heroics.
Still Dominating at 40
While Bayless continues to downplay his success, LeBron is proving that age hasn’t slowed him down. At 40, he is averaging 24.9 points, 8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game while shooting an efficient 51.9% from the field and 39.4% from three-point range.
