Giannis Defends LeBron James After Podcast Jabs: “I’ve Seen It All”

LeBron James may be 40, but he’s still putting up elite numbers. And Giannis Antetokounmpo wants NBA fans to stop acting like that’s not the case.

After LeBron addressed criticism about his playing style on a recent episode of the Mind the Game podcast, Giannis quickly jumped in to back the four-time champion.

“LeBron has no bag, and I’m sitting here with 50 billion points,” James joked during the episode, responding to online critics who claim his style lacks flair or creativity.

On Monday, Antetokounmpo echoed LeBron’s frustration in a post on X, formerly Twitter:

“If they’re people out there that believe that one of the greatest players to ever be on earth has no bag… Man I’ve seen it all 💯🤦🏽‍♂️”

Still Elite at 40

LeBron’s 2024–25 season stats speak for themselves. He averaged:

  • 24.4 points
  • 7.8 rebounds
  • 8.2 assists

He also ranked 13th on the league scoring leaderboard. At age 40. That puts him ahead of dozens of rising stars, many in their prime.

Giannis Names LeBron in His All-Time Top 5

Giannis didn’t stop with a social media defense. In a recent conversation, he once again listed LeBron among his top five players of all time, alongside:

  • Michael Jordan
  • Kobe Bryant
  • Stephen Curry
  • Kevin Durant

It’s not the first time Giannis has praised LeBron’s longevity and impact, but the post drew extra attention because of its timing, shortly after LeBron’s podcast clip went viral.

Giannis Trade Rumors Cool Down

Despite offseason speculation, Giannis appears to be staying put in Milwaukee. Trade buzz linking him to other franchises has faded, and reports now suggest there’s little momentum behind any real movement.

“The common belief amongst league insiders that he will remain… has been replaced with skepticism,” NBA insider Jake Fischer said via Bleacher Report.
However, he added that any firm decision on trade talks likely wouldn’t come until later in June.

For now, Antetokounmpo is enjoying the offseason and using his platform to defend one of the game’s all-time greats.
