Bronny James Hints at LeBron’s Future With Lakers After Playoff Exit

The King’s son weighs in as questions swirl about what’s next for the NBA legend.

As speculation builds around LeBron James’ NBA future, Bronny James is offering a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes.

In an interview with Fox Sports’ Melissa Rohlin, Bronny was asked whether he wants his father to continue playing after the Lakers’ disappointing playoff exit.

His answer?
A strong endorsement that LeBron still has fuel left in the tank.

“Yeah, for sure,” Bronny said.
“However long he can come back for, it’s always a pleasure being around him. He’s locked in. The stuff he does for his body and the preparation and stuff like that, I want to take full advantage of it.”

Signs Point to One More Season

While Bronny didn’t give an official announcement, his comments echo everything insiders have reported in recent weeks:
LeBron James is not planning to retire yet.

As we previously covered, sources close to the Lakers confirmed that LeBron — despite battling a Grade 2 MCL sprain — is preparing for another full NBA season.
He’s even reportedly open to a pay cut to help the Lakers retool the roster around himself and Luka Doncic.

The opportunity to mentor Bronny at the professional level has been one of LeBron’s dreams for years.
This season, they made history by becoming the first father-son duo ever to play in an NBA game together.

And based on Bronny’s admiration for his father’s preparation, it’s clear the two aren’t done writing their story just yet.

Why LeBron Isn’t Ready to Walk Away

There’s more than sentimentality keeping LeBron going.

  • He still averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists at 40 years old.
  • He believes he has unfinished business after the Lakers’ early playoff flameout.
  • He wants to leave the game on his own terms — possibly with a farewell tour, not a first-round defeat.

On the Mind The Game podcast, LeBron was candid about the mental and physical recovery ahead:

“I have some time to get it right and get back to full strength as far as I need,” he said.

Now, with an entire summer to rehab and reload, the King looks ready to chase one more ring — this time alongside Luka and Bronny.
