Angel Reese is proving she can dominate far beyond the basketball court. The 23-year-old Chicago Sky star has just announced that she will become the first professional athlete ever to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The move is already sending shockwaves through both the sports and fashion worlds.
From Hoops to the Runway
Reese revealed the news on Instagram, sharing a set of photos and a short video that showed her in black lace lingerie, feathered wings, and the brand’s signature pink-and-white robe.

Her caption read:
“Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria’s Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings. Wings on, heels ready — catch me on the runway.”
The WNBA forward, nicknamed Bayou Barbie, called it a full-circle moment, noting that she attended last year’s show as a guest, never imagining she’d soon be the one on stage. “I could not stop smiling,” she told People. “Just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway… and now I get to return as an Angel.”
Making History With Victoria’s Secret
In a press release, Victoria’s Secret praised Reese for her “unparalleled athleticism and influence across sports and culture,” saying she embodies the brand’s modern message of confidence and diversity.

The 2025 show, which airs October 15 on Prime Video, marks the second since the brand’s relaunch and a renewed commitment to inclusivity after a six-year hiatus.
Reese will share the stage with a powerhouse lineup, including performances from Karol G, Madison Beer, Missy Elliott, and K-pop group TWICE, as she steps into a role previously reserved for global supermodels.
A New Kind of Role Model
The basketball phenom, who’s been redefining what it means to be a modern athlete, says the opportunity is about more than fashion. “I hope I can inspire women and girls everywhere and remind them that we can dominate in our field but also chase our goals outside of it,” Reese said.
Known for her fierce competitiveness on the court and growing influence off it, Reese now adds runway model to her résumé, blending sport, style, and star power in a way that few have ever done.
Come October 15, the world won’t just be watching another Victoria’s Secret show.
They’ll be watching a WNBA player make history in heels.
